Call Point Protection

Call Point Protectors

These tough covers have been specifically designed to help deter false fire alarms and to prevent vandalism or accidental activation of manual call points. The range of call point protectors, known as the Stoppers, provides durable polycarbonate protection without restricting legitimate emergency operation.

What This Product Group Covers

Call point protectors are intended for buildings where there is a real risk of accidental activation, tampering or deliberate misuse of break glass call points and similar emergency activation devices. This is especially relevant in schools, colleges, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, shopping centres and other public buildings with regular user traffic.

The FUMARO page presents several protective cover families, ranging from simple hinged covers to more advanced solutions with optional sounders, weather protection and glow-in-the-dark features. Together, they create a practical way to reduce false alarms while maintaining proper emergency access to the protected device.

Call Point Stopper

The Call Point Stopper is described as an aesthetic and inexpensive UV-stabilised polycarbonate cover that protects a wide range of electrical switches and call points without restricting legitimate operation. It is intended for public buildings where accidental activation is a known risk.

The cover uses a spring-loaded hinge and retrofits securely over the existing device. Once lifted, access is provided immediately, and after release the hinge automatically returns the cover to its original position.

Euro Stopper Multi Kit

The Euro Stopper Multi Kit is presented as a versatile cover with multiple solutions in one box. It consists of a clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate call point cover and frame, designed to retrofit over a break glass call point. The frame includes the Glow Guide material, which illuminates in dark conditions and helps users locate the protected call point.

The Multi Kit includes one frame with Glow Guide, two coloured housing shells, one break seal and two label sheets in 13 languages. It is available with or without sounder and is intended for schools, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels and other public buildings where there is a known risk of false activation.

Universal Stopper

The Universal Stopper is an indoor and outdoor protective cover available in low-profile or dome format. It can be used over manual call points, emergency buttons, dual action pull stations and other similar activation devices. The product is positioned as a versatile IP-rated solution offering protection against damage, dust, grime and difficult environments.

According to the FUMARO page, mounting options 0 and 1 are designed to meet IP54 requirements, while options 6 and 7 meet IP56. A sealed mounting plate used with option 6 provides IP66 protection.

Enviro Stopper

The Enviro Stopper is described as an IP66/56 certified protective cover designed for harsh environments. It helps extend the working life and reliability of devices exposed to wash-down areas, dust, water ingress and vandal-prone conditions. It protects manual call points and switches inside and outside the building envelope.

The cover uses a tamperproof polycarbonate hood and back box sized for a standard European call point or switch, sealing the protected device when closed.

Stopper II

The Stopper II is presented as the largest protective cover in the Stopper series. It is intended for larger fire alarm break glass call points and has a long history as a solution for reducing false alarms without interfering with legitimate device use.

The page notes that, when fitted with the optional integral sounder, the unit emits a high-volume warning when lifted, drawing immediate attention to the area and acting as a deterrent against misuse.
